A seemingly simple task for JDA Dijon nearly went wrong. From seeking a blowout, La Jeanne instead narrowly held on for the win, 87-83, versus Rytas on Wednesday.

Slovenian Gregor Hrovat poured in a team-high 17 points, including two free throws to make it a two-possession game with pressure mounting in the dying seconds of the Basketball Champions League contest. The lead peaked at 25 points early in the second half, but the visitors refused to give up and went into shooting distance from their first lead on multiple occasions.

Longtime leader of the French club, David Holston, recorded 13 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and one steal. Zimbabwean center Vitalis Chikoko added 13 points, five rebounds, one block, one steal, and one block in the opening Gameday of the BCL Regular Season. Cameron Hunt got to 11 points.

Resurfacing in the Champions League after the productive campaign with Polski Cukier Torun in 2019-20, Keith Hornsby put up a game-high 19 points to go with six rebounds and three assists for the losing side. Gytis Masiulis followed with 15 points. Gytis Radzevicius stayed on the injury list for the team coached by Giedrius Zibenas.

Securing the win in Palais des Sports de Dijon, the team coached by Nenad Markovic went up to 1-0 in Group B, pushing the Lithuanian club to 0-1.
