The red-and-black Israeli team will reportedly play behind closed doors their next Basketball Champions League game

As the conflict between Hamas and Israel goes on, Israeli teams need to find places where to play internationally. After the first encounters of Hapoel Jerusalem and Hapoel Holon in the Basketball Champions League were postponed, something could change for next week

According to Arale Weisberg from Walla Sport, in fact, the 2022-23 BCL runner-up may end up playing their next appointment against Galatasaray behind closed doors at the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade, usually home of Crvena Zvezda – which it’s now playing in the Stark Arena.

The Israeli side is coached by the legendary Serbian Aleksandar Dzikic, and this may have helped in negotiations since Hapoel Jerusalem has been practicing near Belgrade since the conflict re-took place within the country.

As previously reported by Eurohoops, the Serbian capital is an option for Maccabi Tel Aviv as well, as the yellow-and-blue team’s fate will be discussed in a meeting with EuroLeague shareholders in Istanbul, scheduled for tomorrow.

The game between Hapoel Jerusalem and Galatasaray is set to take place on November 1, after the Turkish team suffered an heavy 11-point defeat at home against PAOK in Round 1.
