After suffering the 20-point blowout loss against Rio Breogan to open the Basketball Champions League Regular Season, Bursaspor Info Yatirim couldn’t make it in Round 2 as well, losing at home against the reigning champions of Telekom Baskets Bonn, which won 91-73.

Putting on the court a whole different team, coached by Roel Moors, after the exodus to Paris Basketball, the 25-year-old power forward Till Pape led the German side in scoring with 16 points and 6/9 from the field. Coming off the bench, Savion Flagg had 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. Telekom Baskets Bonn had a total of five players who ended the game in double-digits.

The former Fenerbahce center Johnny Hamilton had a stellar performance with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists, shooting perfectly from the field (8/8). Anthony Brown, who started his career with the Los Angeles Lakers and played with the green-and-white team in the 2021-22 season as well, followed in the loss with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Starting the game strong with a 9-0 run which brought the away team up 26-14 at 9:44 on the clock, Telekom Baskets Bonn made a statement from the beginning, continuing their away game-winning streak in the BCL and going up 10 straight victories after the 2022-23 season. Bursaspor never found itself in the game, being outlasted in points from the paint (41 vs 16).

Not playing in Round 1 against Hapoel Holon after Israeli teams’ games were postponed due to the ongoing conflict in the country, Telekom Baskets Bonn will recover the rescheduled encounter against the purple-and-yellow team on November 1. The German team didn’t win the 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup in Singapore.
