BCL Regular Season Week 2 Recap: Unicaja, AEK, and Darussafaka on top

By Eurohoops team / info@eurohoops.net

For the second consecutive week, the whole Basketball Champions League landscape was conditioned by the absence of Israeli teams on the court, and Hapoel Holon didn’t play against Rio Breogan. In Group F, instead, the reigning champs of Telekom Baskets Bonn put Bursaspor down 0-2, winning in Turkey.

On Tuesday, the competition started with an amazing show between Darussafaka and Lenovo Tenerife, as the black-and-green Turkish team took down the two-time BCL champions, being unbeaten alongside Unicaja Malaga – which beat Le Mans – and AEK, which came back for the win against Sassari, in Italy.

Elsewhere in the Basketball Champions League, Peristeri bounced back after the heavy loss in Round 1 by beating Falco Szombathely by 17 points, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg beat the Polish rookie of King Szczecin, and Vojtech Hruban reached 1000 points in the competition during the controversial win by Cholet against VEF Riga.
