After spending his whole eight-year career in the NBA, Justin Anderson moved to Europe right before turning 30 years of age, joining Rio Breogan in the Basketball Champions League.
Being selected with the 21st pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks after three seasons with the Virginia Cavaliers, he stayed in Texas until 2017, moving to Philadelphia, Atlanta, and then the Raptors 905.
Among others, he also represented the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Indiana Pacers. There, where he last played, he had 6.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He missed the whole 2022-23 season.
The American forward will debut in the European competition with the Galician team in Group F, trying to help the Spanish side advance to the Round of 16. They’re currently tied with Telekom Baskets Bonn after beating Bursaspor in Round 1, and didn’t play against Hapoel Holon in Round 2.
Elsewhere in the BCL, Giovan Oniangue signed a contract for the rest of the season with JDA Dijon. The 32-year-old Congolese small forward will debut in the continental competition with La Jeanne sitting at 1-0 in Group B of the Regular Season.
