Desperate to avoid a second straight loss in the Basketball Champions League, UCAM Murcia took advantage of injury woes marking the camp of Igokea m:tel.

The Universitarios jumped to an early double-digit lead and never looked back on the way to the 72-47 victory in Palacio de Deportes de Murcia on Wednesday.

Dealing with limited resistance in Gameday 2 of the Regular Season, all ten players checking in produced at least one bucket. Senegalese center Moussa Diagne stood out with 11 points, including seven in the fourth quarter to keep the distance growing. Pulling down eight rebounds added to a game-high efficiency rating of 19.

Cincinnati product Troy Caupain shared the team-high 11 points and Jordan Sakho ended up with ten points. Rodions Kurucs got four points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and one steal. Dylan Ennis piled up nine points, six rebounds, three steals, and one rebound. David Jelinek and Simon Birgander did not leave the bench.

Apart from Stefan Moody and Jackie Carmichael missing the trip to Murcia due to injury, Marko Josilo was a late scratch for the Bosnia-Herzegovina champions. Only eleven players suited up for the team coached by Vladimir Jovanovic. Nikola Tanaskovic tallied a game-high 15 points in the losing effort in Spain.

Sitting at 4-3 in Spain’s Liga Endesa, Sito Alonso’s side switched back to the BCL and went up to 1-1 in Group H of the Regular Season, forcing the visitors to 0-2.
