Sitting at 1-2 in Group E of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season, after storming back to collect a key win against EWE Baskets Oldenburg on Wednesday, Filou Oostende added a new player on Thursday.

Jean Salumu is back. Starting his career with Oostende with a long stint lasting until the conclusion of the 2017-18 season, he contributed to a large chunk of the ongoing 12-year streak as Belgium champions. Opting to move his talents overseas, he played in Poland, France, Germany, Italy, and Turkiye over the last five years.

His experience in the Champions League stretches from 27 appearances in the Regular Season during the spell with Oostende and two more in the Qualification Rounds of the 2018-19 season with Sakarya BSB. Representing Belgium at the international level, he played in the 2015 and 2017 editions of EuroBasket.

King Wilki Morskie Szczecin was active in the transfer market earlier in the week. The reigning champions in Poland’s PLK secured the services of Przemysław Zolnierewicz. The 28-year-old guard started the current campaign with Arka Gdynia. Debuting in the BCL, he meets his new side at 1-2 in Group D.

Meanwhile, Lenono Tenerife placed Jaime Fernandez (left leg) on the injury list. The 30-year-old combo guard is considered questionable to play against Darussafaka Lassa in Gameday 4 of the Regular Season next Tuesday. The team coached by Txus Vidorreta is part of a three-way tie with Dacka and Cholet at 2-1, on top of Group C.
