Jermaine Love inking a deal with Peristeri bwin to play under the guidance of Vassilis Spanoulis marked his return to Greece, besides the Basketball Champions League.
Love, 34, averaged 12.0 points per contest over six BCL appearances as the captain of PAOK in the 2021-22 season. Returning to FIBA Europe’s top-tier club continental competition, he meets his new side locked in the third seed of Regular Season’s Group A and heading to a best-of-three Play-In series against Rytas or Promitheas in January.
The explosive guard was playing in France’s Betclic Elite with Elan Chalon, after starting the 2023-24 campaign in Venezuela. Previous experience across Europe stretches to earlier spells in Greece, Russia, Israel, Italy, and Lithuania since coming out of Illinois–Springfield in 2012.
Elsewhere in the Champions League, UCAM Murcia extended the contract of Latvian forward Rodions Kurucs until the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. The Universitarios are in the hunt for the top seed in Group H, thus a direct ticket to the Round of 16.
Meanwhile, Chaundee Brown Jr. moved from SIG Strasbourg to EWE Baskets Oldenburg before the key meeting between the two teams in Rhenus Sport tomorrow, Tuesday. The 25-year-old swingman is ineligible for the Gameday 6 affair.
Also, Darussafaka Lassa released Todd Withers, following similar decisions regarding Kyle Allman Jr., Mason Jones, David McCormack, and Janis Timma over recent weeks.
On Friday, Unicaja’s Jonathan Barreiro underwent surgery after a recent injury in his left wrist.
