Stopping JDA Dijon, Rytas snaps up the second seed in Group B of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season

Combined with the first four-game winning streak in the Basketball Champions League, Rytas went from an 0-2 start to the Play-Ins with a homecourt advantage.

The Vilnius outfit took down JDA Dijon, 79-77, in ASG Arena on Tuesday.

Pulling down the 19th offensive rebound of the night, Gytis Radzevicius pushed the ball into the net to save the day as time ran out. The 28-year-old forward went up to a team-high 18 points, a new individual best for the 2023-24 campaign. Ten rebounds drew up his second straight double-double in the BCL. Second-chance points were 23-5, including the game-winner.

Martynas Echodas and Margiris Normantas chipped in 17 points apiece in Gameday 6 of the Regular Season. Key players R.J. Cole and Keith Hornsby were scratched due to injuries. For the visitors, Cameron Hunt produced a game-high 19 points behind the game-tying free throw with 3.9 seconds left.

Finishing Group B at 4-2 secured the second seed, thus homecourt advantage opposite Peristeri bwin in a best-of-three Play-In Series for a spot in Group K of the Round of 16. A sixth win in a row across all competitions, including jumping to a joint-high 12-2 in Lithuania’s Betsafe LKL.

La Jeanne was placed first in the four-team group, earning a break before heading to Group J of the Round of 16. Ending up with a 5-1 record did not matter for returning head coach Laurent Legname, especially considering the important task of improving the 7-9 W-L tally in France’s Betclic Elite.
