Cholet Basket lost Game 1 of the best-of-three Play-Ins series against Dinamo Sassari but managed to bounce back both on the road in Sardinia in Game 2, ending things up in Game 3 by winning it 93-77 in front of its fans.
Craig Randall II, who joined Laurent Vila’s side midway through the season, was Cholet’s leader with 24 points (6/13 from three-point), while the 2005-born Tidjane Salaun had 15 points and 7 rebounds. Enzo Goudou-Sinha, Emmanuel Nzekwesi, and Nathan De Sousa had 10 points all from the bench.
On Piero Bucchi’s team, Breein Tyree had 17 points in a difficult shooting night (6/15 from the field), followed by Filip Kruslin’s all-around performance of 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
The red-and-white French team will now play the Round of 16 against the countrymen of SIG Strasbourg, Tofas Bursa, and last year’s Basketball Champions League Final Four participants of Unicaja Malaga.
