Hunting for a second straight campaign in the Quarterfinals of the Basketball Champions League, UCAM Murcia made short work of AEK Betsson on Tuesday.
Tucking in 12/15 from the field, Jonah Radebaugh produced a career-high 31 points. Dropping 19 points in the second half of the Gameday 5 affair retained a safe distance for his side on the way to 4-1 in Group L of the Round of 16.
Packing 16 points with 6/7 field goals, Dustin Sleva also chipped in eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Dylan Ennis followed with 13 points to go with four rebounds and three assists. Swedish imports Ludvig Hakanson and Simon Birgander stayed on the injury list.
Mindaugas Kuzminskas stood out for the team coached by Ilias Zouros with a team-high 19 points in Murcia. Justin Tillman, Langston Hall, Dimitris Flionis, Alfis Pilavios, and Manos Mataliotakis were sidelined.
If Promitheas earns a win over Hapoel Holon on Wednesday, the Universitarios will clinch a berth in the Quarterfinals alongside the Patras outfit. Otherwise, a win against the Israeli club next Wednesday will be required. At 15-9 in Spain’s Liga Endesa, Sito Alonso’s side welcomes Monbus Obradoiro in Palacio de los Deportes on Saturday.
Already eliminated, AEK was forced down to 0-5. Playing at home against Promitheas wraps up the continental campaign next Wednesday. Focusing on Greece’s Stoiximan Basket League, the Queen hopes to improve the 8-12 W-L tally and reach the Playoffs.
