Getting the sixth straight victory in the Round of 16, ending with a 6-0 run in Group I for the home-court advantage in the Quarter-Finals, Unicaja Malaga mercilessly beat Cholet Basket 85-70.
After successful years and winning streaks, the Andalucian side has found the greatest achievement in such matter coming off last year’s elimination in the Final Four.
This is indeed the team’s longest streak in the Basketball Champions League.
Dylan Osetkowski led Ibon Navarro’s team in scoring with 18 points over 3/6 from three-point range, followed by Kameron Taylor at 13 points and Tyler Kalinoski, who scored 12 points. Tyson Carter had an all-around night with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Going close to a double-double in the defeat in Malaga, Neal Sako had 17 points and 9 rebounds. 2005-born and Draft prospect Tidjane Salaun had 8 points and 5 boards, while Enzo Goudou-Sinha scored 11.
Despite being tied with Tofas Bursa at 2-4, Cholet Basket can’t advance due to the head-to-head confrontation with the Turkish team. SIG Strasbourg also joined the conversation at the same record with a last-minute victory, but it wasn’t enough for them either.
