Allan Dokossi made an impact for JDA Dijon in a win, 85-76, versus Galatasaray Ekmas on Wednesday.
Both sides were knocked out of contention for a spot in the Quarterfinals before Gameday 6 of the Basketball Champions League Round of 16. Dokossi had a 16-point, 18-rebound double-double, pushing La Jeanne to a 2-4 finishing tally in Group J. The 24-year-old forward threw in three steals and two assists in a humongous efficiency rating of 31.
After helping his new team reach the championship game of the Coupe de France, Jawun Evans registered 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in his first appearance in the Champions League. Besides David Holston and Ahmad Caver on the injury list, Leyton Hammonds and Gregor Hrovat were also sidelined.
A fourth win for Dijon in as many BCL clashes opposite Galata but the first when leading after the third quarter. The French club never trailed across 40 minutes of action in Palais des Sports de Dijon.
Carrying a five-game winning streak in all competitions, the team coached by Yakup Sekizkok fell to 2-4 and the bottom of the four-team group. Klemen Prepelic dropped all of his 16 points in the second half. Newcomer Parker Jackson-Cartwright was left out of the lineup along with Jarell Martin, Samet Geyik, and Bugrahan Tuncer.
