Attracting interest from several insiders in Berlin at the latest Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals, representing INSEP Paris, Nolan Traore decided to extend his stay in Saint-Quentin.
The 2006-born playmaker, who recently ended his first professional season in the French first division, officially signed a two-year contract extension with his current club. He contributed to bringing them from newcomers all the way to the LNB Quarter-Finals, losing to EuroLeague side ASVEL.
Spending most of the season with INSEP Paris in the third division, where he has been averaging 16.8 points and 5.5 assists per game, he appeared in seven encounters with Saint-Quentin, putting up 10.3 points and 5.4 assists per night in the LNB.
In the latest ANGT Finals, instead, he led the tournament in scoring with 24.8 points per game, while also bringing home 3.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game, shooting 51.6% from the field. However, he wasn’t enough to give INSEP Paris the title victory against Real Madrid.
He also broke the record for points scored in a single ANGT Finals game with 45 against Barcelona, making it into the best starting five of the tournament alongside MVP Hugo Gonzalez. With France’s youth system, he won the bronze medal at the U16 European Championship in 2022.
Considering Saint-Quentin’s final position in the 2023-24 regular season in the LNB, finishing 6th only behind Monaco, Paris, ASVEL, Bourg-en-Bresse, and Nanterre, the French club will play in next year’s Basketball Champions League. Nolan Traore could fight for the Best Young Player of the Year Award.
