The tenure of Michalis Lountzis at Olympiacos ended after three years, as the two sides did not renew their contract.
However, the Greek guard already has a new team, as he joined Promitheas Patras to play in the Basketball Champions League.
Lountzis won two Greek championships, three Greek Cups, and two Super Cups during his tenure in Piraeus and is returning to Promitheas, where he played before joining Olympiacos.
He started his career at Panathinaikos, where he played for three years (2014-2017), debuting in the Basket League at the age of just 16. He then played for one year in Trikala (2017-18), two years in Lavrio (2018-20), before becoming a resident of Patras for the first time in 2020.
After a very good season, averaging 7.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in helping Promitheas win the Super Cup and reach the final of the Greek Cup, he moved to Olympiacos, where he averaged 16 minutes of play in the Greek League, posting 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists during his last season.
