Unicaja Malaga has finalized the signing of 26-year-old Killian Tillie for the 2024-25 season.
The French power forward joins Malaga to compete in the ACB League and the Basketball Champions League after a successful NBA Summer League stint with the Boston Celtics, averaging 8.5 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Tillie showcased his talent early on, being a regular in the French youth teams. He won the European Under-16 Championship in 2014, where he was named MVP. He then moved to the United States, playing four seasons at Gonzaga University (2016-20), where he averaged 13.6 points, 5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and nearly one block per game in his final NCAA season.
In the NBA, Tillie played 54 games with the Memphis Grizzlies between 2020 and 2022, averaging 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game. He also played for the Memphis Hustle, a G League affiliate during that period.
Injuries sidelined him for two and a half seasons, but he is now back and ready to contribute to Unicaja, the 2024 BCL champions.
This will be his first professional experience in Europe. He will follow in the footsteps of his brother Kim Tillie, who has played for several European clubs in France, Spain, Greece, and Montenegro.
