Borisa Simanic leaning towards recovery as he reportedly trains with Igokea

The last time we saw Borisa Simanic playing was during Serbia’s clash against South Sudan at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

During the game, he was unintentionally hit by Nuni Omot and was forced to undergo crucial treatments at the hospital. After a few days, it was announced that he wasn’t anymore in a risking-life situation, but one of his kidneys got removed. Following the event, he had to recover slowly.

Now, it’s possible we could see him making his return to action in both ABA League and Basketball Champions League. According to Meridian Sport, he’s currently training with Bosnian side Igokea.

Missing the whole 2023-24 season due to his injury status, Borisa Simanic got rewarded with a national team call after a solid 2022-23 campaign with Casademont Zaragoza, where he averaged 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in the ACB.

The club won’t need to pass through BCL Qualifiers, as they directly got to next year’s Basketball Champions League Regular Season; they got drawn into Group A with Hapoel Holon, Nanterre, and Wurzburg. BC Igokea strengthened itself by adding former Bryce Jones, among others.
