Dewan Hernandez will play for Promitheas in the Basketball Champions League.
The latest roster adjustment for the Patras outfit landed the 27-year-old forward/center. The Miami product has already been registered to the BCL roster and thus is set to debut in FIBA Europe’s top-tier club continental competition.
Heading to Gameday 2 of the Regular Season, the team coached by Ilias Papatheodorou will face Rasta Vechta in Rasta Dome on Wednesday. Both sides are looking to improve to 1-1 in Group D.
Besides six NBA games with the Toronto Raptors during the 2019-20 Regular Season and additional domestic professional experience through the G League, Hernandez displayed his talents in Israel, Puerto Rico, and China. However, he sat out the 2023-24 season due to a knee injury.
With Josh Adams and Javin DeLaurier expected to part ways with Promitheas, Thanasis Bazinas, Linos Chrysikopoulos, Wes Iwundu, Antonis Karagiannidis, Angelos Lagios, Michalis Lountzis, Minas Papagiannis, Darius Perry, Grigoris Prekas, Jordon Varnado, Kenny Williams, and KJ Williams are his new teammates.
Meanwhile, Maccabi Ramat Gan parted ways with 24-year-old guard Itay Moskovits and added 24-year-old guard Omer Poleg. Other players for head coach Shmuel Brener extend to Adam Ariel, Drew Crawford, Roberto Gallinat, Roi Huber, Kendale McCullum, Yahel Melamed, Isaiah Miles, Dori Sahar, Benayu Sror, and Amin Stevens.
Down to 0-1 in Group E of the BCL Regular Season after losing to AEK Betsson in Athens, the Israeli club faces VEF Riga in Opava next week, October 15.
