McCollum leads Karsiyaka past Saint Quentin

Karsiyaka found a way to slow down the talented Nolan Traore, and led by the experienced Errick McCollum, recorded their first win of the season in the Basketball Champions League.

The hosts led for over 38 minutes, with the largest lead being 17 points, ultimately winning 84-74.

McCollum led the winning side with 21 points and six assists, while Damien Jefferson followed with 18 points and six rebounds. Daron Russell added 16 points, and Kenan Sipahi contributed 11 for the Izmir side.

On the other side, Jerome Robinson stood out with 18 points, Giovan Oniangue added 15, while the talented Traore finished with 11 points and six assists. Dominik Olejiczak was on the verge of a double-double with 10 points and eight boards.

“We did a great job defensively”

The head coach of the winning side, Ufuk Sarica, shared his impressions after the game.

We had some problems, we are missing players, but we did a great job. They are a very talented team. In the first half, we played perfectly both on offense and defense. Actually, defensively, we did a great job throughout the whole game, and I congratulate my team,” said the head coach of Karsiyaka.
