Historic night for last year’s FIBA EuroCup winners NINERS Chemnitz, which convincingly beat SL Benfica 103-75 to find their first-ever Basketball Champions League victory.

Coming off the bench for the German side, Victor Bailey Jr. had 22 points in the impressive win, shooting perfectly from the free-throw line (6/6) and excellently from the field (6/9).

The South-Sudanese-rooted Aher Uguak had a solid playmaking performance with 12 points and 11 assists, joined by 15 points provided each by Williams Christmas and Olivier Nkamhoua.

After losing 92-64 to BAXI Manresa in the season’s opener, the Portuguese side suffered another blowout loss this season in the Basketball Champions League.

Tyler Stone could have fought to be named MVP of this week’s action in the competition as he had 28 points for SL Benfica; however, his team couldn’t get an advantage from his huge scoring performance.

Following this result, the German team bounced back to tie with the Spaniards at 1-1. Bertram Derthona keeps the lead with an unbeaten 2-0 record, while as expected SL Benfica stays at the bottom, winless.
