Javon Freeman-Liberty and Saben Lee have left, but Manisa keeps winning in the Basketball Champions League.

The Turkish side improved to 3-0 after edging out Peristeri in the final moments, with the final score being 79-77.

It all came down to the last minute. Hugo Besson hit a crucial 2-point shot with 30 seconds left to put Manisa ahead 78-77. Peristeri had a chance to win, but George Papas missed the three and then received a technical foul after arguing for free throws. Yunus Sonsirma made the resulting free throw to seal the win.

Martynas Echodas led Manisa with 19 points and eight rebounds, Hugo Besson added 17 points, while Fabian White Jr. contributed 10 points and six boards. Recently signed Troy Brown Jr. had nine points, along with six rebounds and four assists in his BCL debut.

For Peristeri, Chris Coffey scored 14 points, Tobin Carberry and Jarell Eddie added 13 points each, and George Papas finished with 11 points.

Echodas seeks improvements

Despite another victory, Manisa’s leading scorer against Peristeri, Martynas Echodas, believes there is still plenty of room for improvement within his team.

Tough victory. We fought very well, but I think we are far from playing good-quality basketball. Our players are very talented, but we change the roster a lot, so we need to practice more. We wanted the win more today, and that’s what matters.
