Manisa stunned UCAM Murcia in the first round of the 2024/25 season, but the Spanish side immediately bounced back against Peristeri.
Sito Alonso’s team secured its second consecutive victory after dominating FMP Soccerbet at Palacios de los Deportes, winning 86-50.
Murcia maintained the lead for over 37 minutes, constantly increasing the margin to eventually win by a game-high 38-point surplus.
Troy Caupain led the scoring with 13 points, while Dylan Ennis added 11 points. Rodions Kurucs, Nemanja Radović, and Howard Sant-Roos each contributed 10 points, with Sant-Roos grabbing nine rebounds.
On the other side, only Jovan Novak reached double digits with 13 points, while former Crvena Zvezda player Stefan Lazarević added seven points and 11 rebounds.
“It was important to make a statement”
UCAM Murcia’s Howard Sant-Roos emphasized the importance of winning on their home court.
“Great game for us, especially to take care of business at home. The Champions League is very difficult, both away and at home, and every game is important. Since we lost to Manisa, we had to make a statement that nobody can come to our home and beat us.”
