A veteran of 101 NBA games and 26 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Chris Chiozza joined Turkish club Manisa in the Basketball Champions League.
His addition was announced on Sunday.
Manisa has been in the market for backcourt options since the departures of Saben Lee and Javon Freeman-Liberty. After picking up Troy Brown Jr., 28-year-old point guard Chiozza emerged as the next early-season roster adjustment.
The former Florida standout played for Baskonia in the 2023-24 edition of the EuroLeague. Over 26 games, including two starts, he tallied 1.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.5 steals per contest. At the bottom end of the 2022-23 season, he played one game in the Champions League with UCAM Murcia.
In the NBA between 2018 and 2022, he went from the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, and Brooklyn Nets to the Golden State Warriors 2021-22 championship team. In 34 appearances with the Warriors, he averaged 2.0 points and 1.9 assists per game.
Besides Brown, his new teammates are Leon Apaydin, Hugo Besson, Martynas Echodas, Cengizhan Ivedi, Jamorko Pickett, Yunus Sonsirma, Fabian White Jr., Mehmet Yagmur, and Ahmet Yilmaz.
The team coached by Ertug Tuzcukaya is up to 3-0 in Group H of the BCL Regular Season, leading the race for a ticket to the Round of 16 ahead of UCAM Murcia, FMP Soccerbet, and Peristeri Domino’s. In contrast to the continental campaign, a 0-4 record in the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi paints the domestic picture.
