Filling the gap following Dairis Bertans’ injury, VEF Riga moved to the market, acquiring the 23-year-old Georgian guard Rati Andronikashvili on a three-week deal. As said by the team’s president, he will debut in tomorrow’s Basketball Champions League home game against AEK Betsson.
UCAM Murcia’s product, with whom he also debuted in the Basketball Champions League, he moved to Casademont Zaragoza last year, averaging 11.0 points and 4.1 assists per game in the FIBA Europe Cup.
He played in Arena Riga only a few months ago, participating at the beginning of July at the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament to try to bring Georgia to the Olympic Games. Over a two-game span against the Philippines and Latvia, he put up 5.5 points and 3.0 assists per encounter.
