Defending champions Unicaja Malaga continue to impress in the Basketball Champions League. The Spanish side started the defense of their title with four straight victories in the 2024/25 Regular Season, each more impressive than the last.

The latest, marking Week 6, came against Aliaga Petkimspor, on the road in Turkey, as Ibon Navarro’s side outscored their opponent by 52 points (108:56), coming close to the biggest overall margin in a regular season match, which is held by La Laguna Tenerife (97-38, +59 against Opava).

Unicaja’s win over Aliaga Petkim was their 14th straight in the competition, as the team from Malaga tied the all-time record, set by AS Monaco in 2017 and 2018. Therefore, we could witness history in Round 5, when Unicaja will chase a record-breaking 15th victory at home, against Filou Oostende.

Last season’s winners remain among the teams still unbeaten in the Regular Season, alongside ERA Nymburk. The Czech team, which went through qualifications, secured their fourth straight win by defeating Rasta Vechta on the road.

However, two other teams that entered Week 6 with perfect records ended up losing. Nanterre 92 halted FIT/One Würzburg Baskets’ unbeaten run, while Preisteri handed Manisa their first defeat of the season.

Week 6 of the 2024/25 Basketball Champions League season again brought a lot of great action and excitement, with more definitely to follow in the coming weeks and months.
