Saint-Quentin started this year’s Basketball Champions League with a debuting huge night against Kolossos, winning by 30 points. Thus far, that was the victory with the widest gap in Group C.
From tonight, however, this year’s Basketball Champions League history was rewritten as La Laguna Tenerife found an amazing 39-point night win (96-57) against the French newcomers.
David Kramer put on a three-point party with 27 points over 8/11 from beyond the arc for Txus Vidorreta’s team, which collectively shot an unbelievable 16/27 (59.26%) from deep.
Marcelinho Huertas took off the scoring clothes to put back on the assisting ones, sharing 6 dimes for his teammates while also adding 13 points to the scoreboard. Thomas Scrubb and Giorgi Shermadini contributed to the black-and-yellow winning night by combining for 26 points.
2006-born NBA Draft prospect Nolan Traore had a disappointing night with 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Indeed, neither of his teammates shone particularly in the encounter: nobody finished with a double-digit losing effort, as Saint-Quentin’s highest scorer was Dominik Olejniczak with 9 points.
Following this home victory, La Laguna Tenerife joined ERA Nymburk, Unicaja Malaga, and Bertram Derthona Tortona as the only teams still unbeaten in the Basketball Champions League at 4-0.
