A reinforcement for Aliaga Petkimspor in the form of Damyean Dotson.

Dotson, 30, signed with the Turkish club, as announced on Monday morning.

He is a veteran of 213 NBA games between the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Back in 2017, following an NCAA career split between Houston and Oregon, he was selected with the 44th overall pick of the annual draft. After five years in the best league of the world, the native of Houston went on to use overseas options.

Introducing himself to the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi, he joined Gaziantep for the 2022-23 season and also played in the FIBA Europe Cup, helping his side reach the Quarterfinals of the second-tier club continental competition of FIBA Europe. He tallied 14.8 points per contest over 13 appearances in the FIBA Europe Cup.

Returning to Turkiye after spending the 2023-24 campaign and starting the 2024-25 season in China’s CBA, the experienced shooting guard received an upgrade to the Champions League.

Petkimspor, guided by Burak Goren, is 2-2 in Group B of the Regular Season. Tied with Filou Oostende, two games behind reigning champion Unicaja, and two games ahead of King Wilki Morskie Szczecin. Two more outings will decide whether the continental campaign can be extended beyond the six-game double-legged round-robin schedule.

A 3-4 start in the BSL Regular Season is one game outside the Playoffs zone of Turkiye’s top-flight division.

At Petkimspor, Dotson will reunite with former Houston Cougars teammate Wesley Van Beck.
