FMP Soccerbet parted ways with 45-year-old head coach Sasa Nikitovic upon a mutual agreement, as announced on Tuesday night.

Besides Nikitovic, lead assistant Goran Tadic is out as well.

Before the international break, the Belgrade outfit won one out of four games in Group H of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season and sits at 4-5 in the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season.

Coming off of a long coaching career, including a head-coaching spell with Crvena Zvezda back in 2011, Nikitovic took over the Panthers at the bottom end of the 2023-24 campaign. Moving to the 2024-25 season and relying on local players for continental and regional leagues, three losses in a row followed a win over Peristeri Domino’s in the opening Round of the BCL Regular Season.

Carrying a 1-3 record in Group D of the Champions League Regular Season, Promitheas Vikos Cola released Darius Perry from his contract on Wednesday. Playing for head coach Ilias Papatheodorou at the Patras outfit, the 25-year-old point guard had 8.0 points and 2.0 assists per game in FIBA Europe’s top-tier club continental competition and 2.6 points per contest in Greece’s Stoiximan GBL.

After signing a short-term contract with SL Benfica in early September and helping the Eagles move from the Qualification Rounds to the Regular Season, 31-year-old Marcus Thornton returned to the free-agent market. He averaged 9.6 points per BCL game. At 0-4 in Group G, the Lisbon outfit is on the brink of elimination.
