With one game left in the Regular Season, two more teams qualified for the Basketball Champions League Sweet 16

This is the ninth participation in the ninth Basketball Champions League Regular Season, and obviously there will be the ninth appearance in the Round of 16 for La Laguna Tenerife. The two-time competition champions extended their run to 5-0 in Group C by beating Karsiyaka 85-82 at home.

Marcelinho Huertas was crucial for the black-and-yellow Canarian side, dropping a performance of 18 points and 7 assists at 41 years of age; on Wednesday, sticking with the same group, Saint-Quentin effectively eliminated Kolossos by winning 86-75 in Rhodes (also) thanks to Nolan Traore’s 14 points.

Moving back to Tuesday, another team progressed to 5-0 but still hasn’t officially booked a ticket for the Round of 16. In their second participation in the BCL, Bertram Derthona Basket still hasn’t lost a single encounter, staying on top of Group G, where BAXI Manresa came back to beat Benfica later on.

Nobody has qualified yet to move to Group E. The 2022-23 champions Telekom Baskets Bonn first beat VEF Riga on Tuesday night despite Harrison Cleary’s huge night of 29 points with 7/11 from beyond the arc. Previously, Maccabi Ramat-Gan had the best of AEK in Czechia, dragged by both Amin Stevens (24 points and 7 rebounds) and Kendale McCullum (23 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists).

This week’s schedule in the Basketball Champions League concluded with Falco Vulcano Szombathely hosting the still winless WKS Slask Wroclaw in Group F, where Rytas Vilnius beat Reggiana last week in crazy fashion at the very end of the encounter in Lithuania.

The Polish side managed to win on the road for the first time this season, but they still got eliminated as Falco kept the tie-breaker.
