Sitting second in the all-time scoring list of the Basketball Champions League, Vojtech Hruban is back and in a familiar spot with ERA Nymburk.
The 35-year-old small forward inked a contract for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, the team announced on Thursday.
After returning to the BCL and advancing to the Regular Season through the Qualification Rounds in late September, the Czech champions dominated Group D of the Regular Season. Behind five wins in as many fixtures, they clinched a berth in the Round of 16 with one outing left in the six-game double-legged round-robin schedule.
The captain of the senior national team of Czechia and nine-time league champion with Nymburk is on board in the search for additional success in Group L of the Round of 16. After helping Nymburk qualify for the Final Eight editions held in 2020 and 2021, he will be seeking a third run to the Quarterfinals. He will also be looking to catch up with Giorgi Shermadini, the new all-time leading scorer of the league.
Since departing Nymburk in 2022, Hruban went from the London Lions and Cholet to starting the 2024-25 campaign with Givova Scafati. After four appearances in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai, he was released from his contract.
Carrying the experience of 26 Champions League games, Oleksandr Lypovyy signed with Kolossos H Hotels. His addition was announced before the Gameday 5 fixture against Saint-Quentin and elimination from the top-tier club continental competition of FIBA Europe.
