Igokea led for 33:15 minutes tonight, but it still wasn’t enough to pull out the late victory and pray for a positive outcome in the BCL Regular Season.
Wurzburg came back with an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter and ultimately came back home with the 85-83 victory to solidify their status as group winners, finding a ticket for the Sweet 16.
Both Jhivvan Jackson and Zac Seljaas didn’t shoot well from the field but still made the difference by combining for 36 points for the guests, that won in Bosnia.
Talking about Igokea, Terrell Carter concluded his campaign in the BCL with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds; both Bryce Jones and Nikola Maric added 14 points each.
In their first-ever Basketball Champions League appearance, Wurzburg overcame all odds and put themselves into the Round of 16 picture, being the only German team capable of doing so thus far. RASTA Vechta got eliminated, while Bonn and Chemnitz will go through the Play-Ins.
The German team will now be featured in Group I of the Round of 16, alongside Group E winners AEK, and the winners of the following Play-In clashes: Karsiyaka-Promitheas and Manisa-Chemnitz.
