When you become the captain of the team you supported during your childhood, you can’t leave everything on the court every time you wear that jersey. That’s what Gytis Radzevicius usually does.
And that’s one of the reasons why he was named MVP of this season’s Basketball Champions League Group Phase, significantly helping Rytas Vilnius get to a 5-1 record that meant direct qualification to the Round of 16.
The 29-year-old forward has been averaging 13.5 points over 59.0% from the field and 44.0% from beyond the arc, while also grabbing 7.7 rebounds with 1.8 assists per game.

The Lithuanian team won five games in a row after debuting with a road loss in Reggio Emilia, and found itself on top of Group F in the Regular Season, making their straight way to the Sweet 16.
Rytas Vilnius will now rest for the whole month of January, waiting for the winners of the Play-In clashes. In Group J of the Round of 16, they will meet the reigning champions of Unicaja, and whoever comes out victorious from Galatasaray-Saint Quentin and Manisa-Chemnitz.
Gytis Radzevicius was also inserted into the All-Team of the Group Phase, alongside Errick McCollum, Zac Seljaas, Derrick Alston Jr., and Ismael Kamagate.
