Kendrick Perry is staying in Unicaja for the long run as the club announced a contract extension with their star guard until 2027.
Per the press release: “Unicaja and Kendrick Perry have reached an agreement to continue the relationship between both parties until 2027. In this way, the American point guard with a Montenegrin passport, one of the team’s leaders, will continue to delight the Marea Verde in the coming seasons.
Kendrick Perry and Unicaja, a long-standing love story in Malaga. The American point guard has signed an agreement to extend his contract until 2027, two more seasons with the Malaga team. At 32 years old, the player will continue to put down roots in the capital of the Costa del Sol, where he has created a very special bond with both the Club and the Malaga fans, something that will be further strengthened with these 5 seasons that Perry will complete dressed in green and purple.
The 1.83-metre player from Ocoee (Florida, United States) was the first of all the signings that began the current project in the summer of 2022, a fundamental pillar of a team that has had so many successes and is making history in Malaga. Kendrick Perry has been a key figure in the four titles that the Club has won in these three seasons at Unicaja: Copa del Rey 2023, Basketball Champions League 2024 (in which he was chosen MVP of the final), FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2024 and Endesa Super Cup 2024.
It should also be noted that he is one of the team’s leaders on and off the court and that his role transcends the locker room. Kendrick has achieved a special connection with fans who consider him one of their greatest role models.
So far, Kendrick Perry has played 137 games since he arrived at Unicaja in the summer of 2022. The point guard who wears the number 55 on his jersey has a winning percentage of 75.91%, one of the highest in the history of the Club, he is the 11th player who has distributed the most total assists in the history of Unicaja (542), being currently the 7th player with the best average of basket passes in the history of Unicaja (3.96). Regarding his numbers in the current 2024-25 season, Perry has played 23 games counting all competitions (he has only missed one due to illness), averaging 10.6 points, 4.7 assists, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals for a PIR of 13.4, the most on the team.
