Falco-Vulcano Szombathely never participated in the Basketball Champions League Play-Ins before.

What better way to make their debut in this stage of the competition if not with a victory? Well, they did it by winning 88-81 win against Maccabi Ramat-Gan, continuing their good run.

Waiting for Game 2, Matt Tiby was tonight’s black-and-yellow hero with 21 points over 8/15 from the field and 8 rebounds.

Zoltan Perl added 13 points and became the 12th player with 800+ points in the history of the competition.

On Maccabi’s side, Amin Stevens and Kendale McCullum each added 24 points, as the dominant center scored 11/18 from two-point range while the playmaker added 10 assists.

If Falco-Vulcano wins Game 2 they won’t only sweep Maccabi Ramat-Gan, but they will also reach UCAM Murcia, ERA Nymburk, and the winner of the series between Nanterre 92 and Filou Oostende in the Round of 16.
