Promitheas have done it: sweeping 2-0 Karsiyaka, they managed to go through the Play-Ins, reaching the Round of 16. They won 84-68 at home pretty easily with a 23-8 fourth-quarter run.
On the black-and-orange Greek team, Kenny Williams was the highest scorer with 19 points. Off the bench, Antonios Karagiannidis had a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jordon Varnado, instead, had 15 points with 3 steals and 4 blocks.
Karsiyaka, who entered this Play-In series with major departures like Errick McCollum’s, Damien Jefferson’s, Jerry Boutsiele’s, James Webb’s, and Kenan Sipahi’s, fought until the very end.
Daron Russell concluded his BCL campaign and likely his time with the Turkish team with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists, shooting 4/12 from beyond the arc.
The winner of this series will end up playing in Group I of the Round of 16, alongside FIT/One Wurzburg Baskets and AEK Betsson, which qualified directly by skipping the Play-Ins after the Regular Season.
Bertram Derthona Basket joined Group I too on Tuesday after sweeping 2-0 Peristeri in the Play-Ins.
