Bertram Derthona Basket lost last year in the Basketball Champions League Play-Ins, losing on the opportunity of making it to the Round of 16 in their debut season.
Tonight, they were seconds away from witnessing a historic night, but it was Wurzburg who actually did it, turning things around in the remaining possessions and winning 80-79.
Jhivvan Jackson had an outstanding night, erupting for 34 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. He shot almost amazingly, from three (7/11) and at the line (9/9). 2006-born Hannes Steinbach had a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.
With an almost perfect night from the line (13/14), Christian Vital led the guests at 23 points. Davide Denegri registered his career-high in European competitions with 18 points, shooting 6/8 from the field. Ismael Kamagate also added 10 points and 5 rebounds.
To close out the action for Week 1 of the Basketball Champions League Round of 16 in Group I, the Greek derby between AEK and Promitheas Patras will take place tomorrow at 18:00 CET.
