ERA Nymburk isn’t new to long campaigns in the Basketball Champions League, going close to the Final Four or Final Eight on several occasions when they have participated in the competition.
After one season of purgatory in the FIBA Europe Cup, however, they came back to where they belonged as Czech champs. Once they made it to Round 16, they started with a bang.
Scoring 8 threes in the first quarter in Szombathely, Francesco Tabellini’s team managed to beat Falco-Vulcano 106-86, getting their win after one month away from BCL action.
Jaromir Bohacik was absolutely on a roll for ERA Nymburk, scoring 25 points over 5/6 from deep. Stephen Brown also helped with 18 points and 10 assists.
On the domestic side, while Matt Tiby had to exit the court early in the game, Zoltan Perl led his team as the captain with 26 points.
Waiting for the other first game of the Round of 16 between UCAM Murcia and Nanterre 92, ERA Nymburk is now leading Group K, while Falco-Vulcano Szombathely started their stage with a defeat.
