Returning from the national team and domestic cups break in February, Group I of the Basketball Champions League featured a matchup between the two unbeaten teams of the first two game days.
At the end, Wurzburg had to surrender 77-71 at home against AEK, which stays once again unbeaten at 3-0 after concluding the perfect game: they had the lead for 38:13 minutes.
The black-and-gold team, which even found a 16-point lead in the third quarter, outscored the Germans in points in the paint (36-18), and had four players in double-digits.
Grant Golden had the perfect shooting night with 9/9 from the field and 2/2 at the line, concluding with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks; Hunter Hale and Prentiss Hubb each added 14 points too.
For Wurzburg, the Panamian leader Jhivvan Jackson tried his best with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, but he wasn’t enough. The returning Zac Seljaas finished scoreless with 0/8 from the field.
Waiting for tonight’s matchup between Derthona and Promitheas, AEK is now on top of Group I with a 3-0 record; Wurzburg, instead, follows right behind at 2-1.
