Alongside Manisa, Promitheas, and Petkimspor, Falco-Vulcano Szombathely was one of the fewest teams not able to grab a single victory thus far in this year’s Basketball Champions League Round of 16.
If they lost tonight against UCAM Murcia on the road, the Hungarian team’s dream of making it to the best eight teams of the competition would have shattered.
Despite trying their best until halftime, the second half was only possessed by the home side, which escaped for the final 85-63 victory to tie with Nymburk at 3-1 in Group L.
Dylan Ennis led the whole team with 20 points over 10/10 at the line, being perfect at the charity stripe where Murcia made 32 points tonight. Rodions Kurucs added 17 points and 5 rebounds.
On Falco-Vulcano Szombathely’s side, Akos Keller and Zoltan Perl were among the best players, combining 25 points with both coming off the bench. But obviously they weren’t enough.
Following yesterday’s revenge victory over the French team, ERA Nymburk got back the throne at a 3-1 record in Group L, tied with Murcia. Nanterre stays behind at 2-2, with Falco eliminated.
