Entering the penultimate week of action in the Basketball Champions League Round of 16, ERA Nymburk and UCAM Murcia were tied at 3-1 in Group L.
With both hoping to extend their run in the upcoming Quarter-Finals, the Czech champs destroyed Falco, while the Spanish side couldn’t follow against Nanterre.
Returning in great shape to tie with last year’s bronze medalists and still fighting for a spot in the next round, the French team won 76-71, but couldn’t get the tiebreaker after losing 95-84 in Murcia.
Justin Tillman was the protagonist of his team’s victory with 22 points and 8 rebounds in front of his home fans, followed by William Howard (15 points and 8 rebounds) and Desi Rodriguez (12 points).
Moving to Sito Alonso’s team, the backcourt composed of Dylan Ennis (16 points and 5 rebounds) and Ludvig Hakanson (q4 points) wasn’t enough to improve to a 4-1 record in Group L.
After beating Falco Szombathely on Tuesday, ERA Nymburk needed UCAM Murcia to win to mathematically clinch a berth in the BCL Quarter-Finals. But they need to wait one more week.
