Pallacanestro Reggiana needed a win to book a ticket to the Basketball Champions League Quarter-Finals—and they did it.
The Italian side defeated Aliaga Petkimspor 77-70 in the final Round of 16 game and joined La Laguna Tenerife in the next stage of the competition from Group K.
Reggiana led for most of the match, but the Turkish team kept it close. However, the Italian side pulled away with an 11-0 run midway through the final period and secured a 75-60 lead that proved to be just enough for the win.
Jaylen Barford led the winning team with 15 points, Cassius Winston followed with 14 points and five assists, while Jamar Smith added 12 points. Kwan Cheatham also finished in double digits with 10 points.
On the other side, Jaime Echenique and Wes Van Beck scored 14 points each, while Breein Tyree followed them with 11 points, as Aliaga Petkimspor finished the season in the Round of 16 with a 1-5 record.
