Both Promitheas Patras and AEK were already sure about their fate, whatever the result was in their final clash of the season in the Basketball Champions League Round of 16.
Following last week’s result, AEK knew already they would have made it to the following round as the 1st-seeded team in Group I, while Promitheas wouldn’t qualify for the Quarter-Finals.
Showing supremacy until the very end, the Queen came back from -14 to win 60-56 on the road.
The former Promitheas guard Hunter Hale, who played this matchup last year with the opposing jersey, finished with 5 over 2/8 from the field. Grant Golden had 14 points and 6 rebounds.
Coming off the bench, Jordon Varnado inspired his team with 21 points and 6 rebounds in Promitheas’ home victory. Wes Iwundu added 12 points.
The hosts were without Jordan Walker, who dropped the all-time scoring record in the history of the competition last week with 54 points against Wurzburg.
