Last year’s bronze medalist got eliminated from contention in the BCL

Last year, UCAM Murcia was the protagonist of an amazing run in the Basketball Champions League, beating Vassilis Spanoulis’ Peristeri to grab the bronze medal in the Final Four.

This season, they found inconsistency from the very beginning, struggling to make a certain impact in both ACB and International competition. To save their BCL campaign and extend it towards the Quarter-Finals, they had to beat one of the hottest teams in the competition.

However, especially thanks to a 27-14 run in the third quarter, it was ERA Nymburk who emerged victorious on Spaning soil, winning 7660 and gaining home-court advantage.

It was the usual solid game for both Stephen Brown (13 points) and Christian Bishop (8 points and 12 rebounds).

The Czech shooting veteran Vojtech Hruban, who joined the team midway through this current season to return home, added 15 points off the bench.

On Sito Alonso’s team, Jonah Radebaugh’s 15 points over 5/7 from deep weren’t enough.
