Living the inaugural and first season of the post-Donnadieu era, Nanterre 92 had to both win over Falco-Vulcano Szombathely and hope for ERA Nymburk to beat UCAM Murcia to stay alive.
Thanks to the result coming from Spain and their offensive outburst to beat the Hungarians 95-89, the French team made their way to the BCL Quarter-Finals for the first time since 2019.
Despite missing all four of his attempts from three-point range, Desi Rodriguez had a team-high 23-point performance to drag Nanterre to the following round.
Overall, six players on Philippe Da Silva’s roster finished scoring in double-digits, with Justin Tillman erupting for 18 over an almost perfect 4/5 from beyond the arc.
The black-and-gold team also saw a collective prolific contribution, as five players scored in double-digits, with Marcell Pongo (21 points), Zoltan Perl (19 points), and Benedek Varadi (19 points) leading the way.
Nanterre 92 will meet one of AEK, Unicaja, and La Laguna Tenerife in the Quarter-Finals.
