Galatasaray MCT Technic officially announced that they have parted ways with coach Gianmarco Pozzecco.
The Italian coach, who took charge in December 2025, left his position after spending 10 months in Istanbul.
It turned out that the defeat in the domestic league against Bursaspor was the final straw for the management, signaling that the season was not going in the expected direction. This was Galatasaray‘s third consecutive loss, with the defeat against Bursa occurring on their home ground.
Galatasaray said goodbye to the coach on social media.
“We have parted ways with Gianmarco Pozzecco, who has taken on the role of head coach of our Galatasaray MCT Technic Men’s Basketball Team. We thank Gianmarco Pozzecco for the dedication he showed throughout his tenure and the contributions he made to our club; we wish him success in the next phase of his career.
Thank you for everything, Gianmarco!”
Meanwhile, Galatasaray’s new head coach is expected to be Manuchar Markoishvili, a former player of the club who last coached AS Monaco.
Continuing in the Turkish Super League with one win and two losses, Galatasaray MCT Technic started the Basketball Champions League season with a significant defeat against Cibona away.
