AEK decided to leave Eurocup, but the Greek club will not play only in the Greek league next season. FIBA is ready to include AEK in the Basketball Champions League.
According to sources from Greece, AEK will be included not just in the competition, but also in the regular season. Nothing is official yet, but it’s obvious that the Champions League groups will change, or even the format with an extra group being added.
After all AEK finished last season in the Greek league in the third place of the final standings, over Aris and PAOK which are also included in the regular season of Champions League.
