In the first leg of the Basketball Champions League playoffs for the Round of 16, the Greek teams emerged victoriously, while the winner takes it all in the next clash between Banvit and EWE Baskets!
PAOK will head into the second leg of the Round of 16 with a three point advantage after securing a 66-63 win over Iberostar Tenerife on Tuesday evening.
Zanis Pieners led PAOK with 15 points, center Keith Clanton had a 13 point, 10 rebound double double whilst Linos Chrysikopoulos had 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
AEK Athens grabbed a tight win over Monaco with 69-68. Dusan Sakota was the leading scorer for the winners with 20 points.
In Germany, the clash between EWE Baskets and Banvit ended with a tie at 82 points, so the fate of this pairing will be decided in the latter’s home next week. Gediminas Orelik led the Turkish team with 23 points, while Chris Kramer added 19 for the Germans.
