Some months ago Pooh Jeter had signed a contract with Besiktas and as ready to jump on the floor with them, but an expiration on the Turkish league transfer deadline didn’t allow the player’s registration, thus the deal went off.
The Turkish team remained highly interested in the American guard and now the two sides are in advanced talks to finalize a new agreement, according to Eurohoops sources.
Jeter has been a favorite of head coach Ufuk Sarica and, if he ultimately signs with the club, he’s expected to serve as a starting point guard, essentially replacing Michael Thompson.
The 33-year-old player had quite enjoyed the time he spent in Istanbul when he was ready to don the jersey of Besiktas and was quite the vocal supporter of various sports departments of the club in social media. Something that made him also something sort of a “fan favorite” even if he didn’t play any games with the team.
