Basketball Champions League debutant Telekom Baskets Bonn had a rough first half in their own arena against Oostende. The German side had a hard time finding their way to the basket as they lost the first half by 13 (40-27).
In last 20 minutes, the home team did show some improvement but just enough to cut the lead to 5 points. Ultimately, Oostende won 74 – 66.
The Key: Poor shooting, especially from the three-point line, was the biggest problem for the Telekom Baskets Bonn as they shot just 22,22% (6/27).
The Star: Tonye Jekiri was the real force inside the paint finishing game with 20 points and 8 rebs.
Magic Touch: Oostende fans must be proud of Dusan Djordjevic. The experienced point guard dished out 8 assists trying to involve all his teammates.
Malcolm Hill was perhaps the only bright side of the Telekom Baskets Bonn side with 28 points.
