UCAM Murcia got their first victory despite been behind on the scoreboard for most of the game. Coach Ibon Navarro’s men finally won 78 – 76, which was their largest lead.
Hapoel enjoyed good advantages early in the game, but they couldn’t maintain it at the end. Tashawn Thomas, who finished with 20 points and just one miss from the floor (9/10 FG) was outstanding.
The key: The Spanish side had a poor shooting performance but they ended the game with 55 rebounds (23 offensive boards) that were crucial.
The star: Vitor Benite scored 5 points in the last minute, including a 3-pointer that tied the game. He finished with 16 points. Alex Urtasun led Murcia in scoring with 19 points, while Sadiel Rojas was close to a double-double (9+10).
